AZERBAIJANI ORIENTALIST-SCIENTIST REPORTED IN THE CONFERENCE IN PARIS

Deputy Director of Science of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academician Ziya Bunyadov, corresponding member of ANAS Shahin Mustafayev attended the conferences on “Cultural transformation stages in a Muslim society in the South Caucasus and Central Asia during the colonial period (at the end of the XIX century and early XX century)” and "Tradition and modernity in the cartoons of Azerbaijan satirical journal Molla Nasreddin” at Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS) in Paris.

First conference with participation of French scientists and researchers gave information on cultural transformation stages of a Muslim society in the South Caucasus during the Russian Empire.

 In the second conference which has been devoted to the first edition of Azerbaijan satirical journal Molla Nasraddin, publishing 100 years ago, Shahin Mustafayev informed about mentioned edition. He brought to mind that, love and respect to his motherland stands behind journal author’s hate and relentless rage to degeneracy of the XX century life.

 Still 100 years ago journal was acting as a defender of women, focused on women freedom and education of girls, he stated.

 Sh. Mustafayev’s next presentation on “Central Asia – mold of cultures” will be hold within “Transfer of cultures” workshop to be held at Ecole Normale Superieure on January 22.

 Note that, ENS is the most prestigious school in France.
